The Longcroft Christian Fellowship (named after the house where we meet) began in the late 1960s. As one of the earliest House Churches our desire was to express the reality of the Lord Jesus Christ in everyday life, and meeting informally in a home was a significant expression of that value. We remain a home based, family orientated church.
Our congregation is taken from many different walks of life and covers a full age range. We currently have about 120 adult members although we do not maintain a formal membership roll as such. In addition we have a good number of children plus a few students living away during term time.
We are completely dependent on lay ministry and the church is led by a team of four elders and five deacons. The elders are Dr David Vine, Mr Bryan Dowley, Mr David Meeten and Mr Roger Jacobs.
We practise open worship and encourage the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. Our music comprises a mixture of both traditional hymns and modern worship songs.
Regular and challenging expository Bible teaching is central to our meetings. Our desire is to see everyone "rooted and established in Christ".
We have a full range of activities for all age groups. Please see meetings & events for further details.
We have on site parking at the church. Facilities for special needs include a hearing aid loop and an accessible toilet.
